SUN-FUSED IMAGERY: ANTHOTYPE WORKSHOP WITH AMANDA MARCHAND & LEAH SOBSEY

POSTPONED TO 2026

Join Amanda Marchand and Leah Sobsey for a one-day Anthotype Workshop this May, inspired by Emily Dickinson’s herbarium. This hands-on experience explores one of photography’s earliest processes, using plant-based emulsions and sunlight to create organic prints.

Participants will gather leaves, petals, and botanicals to craft Anthotype paper. Guided by Marchand and Sobsey, they will experiment with pressing plants, extracting pigments, and hammering flowers onto fabric, revealing delicate imagery.

Sun-Fused Imagery workshop is presented by Photo Alliance in partnership with SF Camerawork.

SF Camerawork Members' Critiques

Critiques are opportunities for SF Camerawork members to receive feedback on their work from leading artists and educators throughout the country. SF Camerawork has continued with a hybrid model for the Members' Critiques, alternating every other month between in-person and online sessions to inspire and engage with our communities in the Bay Area and globally.

Critique Format: The critiques are two hours long, usually on Tuesday evenings from from 6 - 8 pm PST. Five photographers have 20 minutes at each critique to present their work and receive feedback from the critique leader and the group. In addition to the five photographers presenting work, there are also typically 15 - 20 other members who tune in to observe, comment, and ask questions. Critiques are intended to be as collaborative as possible, and we encourage all participants to engage in the conversation!

If you are interested in learning more or presenting work at an upcoming Members' Critique, please email us at info@sfcamerawork.org for further details.
