SF Camerawork is also pleased to present the Juror's Choice Award of $1,000 to Rachel Fein-Smolinski for her submission Sex Lives of Animals without Backbones, which explores courage, pain, and biomedical power dynamics within the western healthcare industryOf the work, juror Lester Rosso said:

"Fein-Smolinski's manipulations fuse historical reference with allegorical reconstruction. Fields merge and give way to a rising convalescence that subverts the relationship between source and consequence, healer and beseecher. The images, their presentation, and her voice, portend a regenerative body that threatens to shove beyond prescribed limits."

Due to the current state of COVID-19 in San Francisco, this year’s FORECAST exhibition will be exhibited virtually on SF Camerawork’s website in Fall 2020.  Please stay tuned for the launch of the virtual exhibition and accompanying digital programming and artist conversations.
