Hasain Rasheed

Hasain Rasheed is a native of West Oakland, and credits his community as a big piece of who he is—shaping the artist he is today. Over the last 20 years, beginning with his work documenting musicians locally, his work at the Oakland Tribune, and other media institutions, he is proud to have helped document important moments in history.

Hasain Rasheed’s photography spans from portraiture, landscapes, editorial, and commercial work to vintage tintype portraits. Hasain has always been interested in telling unseen stories. Published worldwide, Hasain’s art and visual storytelling have helped illustrate community programs, and the work of non-profits, institutions, and businesses across the country.
