This collage is from a new body of work about the relationship between identity and technology. The works depict the simultaneous feelings of agency and disassociation felt by those who do not have strong connections to the identity prescribed to or chosen by us. As we exist within multiple states of β€œin-between-ness,” technology can aid, complicate, or potentially damage how we embody that representation through a variety of ways: authentic and simulated, personal and historic, past and present, esoteric and familiar, legible and illegible, or on- and offline.
