On December 14th, SF Camerawork welcomed photographer and educator Priya Kambli to lead the monthly members’ critique. The critiques are a great opportunity to receive feedback on your photographic practice and to see what other SF Camerawork members are working on.

ABOUT PRIYA KAMBLI
Priya Kambli was born in India. She moved to the United States at age 18 carrying her entire life in one suitcase that weighed about 20 lbs. She began her artistic career in the States, and her work has always been informed by the loss of her parents, her experience as a migrant, and an archive of family photographs and artifacts she brought with her to America. For the past decade, this archive has been her primary source material in creating bodies of work which explore the migrant narrative and challenges of cross-cultural understanding. In 2008 PhotoLucida awarded her a book publication prize for her project Color Falls Down, published in 2010. Most recently, Kambli was the recipient of an UNSTUCK production grant from the Magenta Foundation in partnership with the visual artist Jean-Francois Bouchard, and a Google Labs Photo Fund grant. Her works can be viewed at priyakambli.com
