In November, SF Camerawork will presented our monthly members’ critique online. Artist and educator Johnnie Chatman lead the group and provided direct feedback on members’ work and photographic practice. 

ABOUT JOHNNIE CHATMAN

Johnnie Chatman is a Californian lens-based artist residing in New York. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Photography, Video & Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Chatman's work has been featured in exhibitions across the United States including at the De Young Museum, HereArts, and SF Camerawork. In 2020, he was announced as a recipient of the En Foco Photography Fellowship. His work has been featured in publications including Dear Dave, Nueva Lutz, and Zoetrope All-Story. Chatman is also the founder of Terms & Conditions, a showcase of experimentation in moving image.

Recent exhibitions include I'm Not The Only One at Fraenkel Gallery, Your Reflection, This Memory at Bronx Art Space, and Magnetic West: Enduring Allure of the American West at Figge Art Museum and Sioux Art Center.
