The term Disquiet, a combination of dis, meaning “lack of” and quiet, meaning “calm” in Latin, expresses the feeling of discomfort and uneasiness. The word “Bodies” suggests multiplicity within the human experience, understanding it as a multifaceted landscape that is in resistance to the binary construct. Disquiet Bodies seeks to convey the changing, evolving and morphing of  “bodies” that exists figuratively and literally. The artists in this exhibition aim to survey the ways the body can be representative of human ideas, experiences, societal constructs, and human desire.
