In Conversation with Julie Casemore of Casemore Kirkeby

6:00 - 7:30 PM PDT

On Tuesday, May 11th SF Camerawork welcomed photographer Suné Woods and gallerist Julie Casemore of Casemore Kirkeby. This was the second talk of our new Fast Forward series, in which we reunite with previous SFC exhibiting artists, who share how their photographic practices have evolved since their time at SF Camerawork.  Suné Woods was selected as the recipient of the Baum Award for an emerging American photographer in 2016, and her work To Sleep with Terra was exhibited as a solo show at SF Camerawork in recognition of the award. In this work, her practice employs video, photography, and collage to address imperialist mechanisms and formations of knowledge.  Her current video and movement work addresses notions of intimacy and love through connections to the aquatic world.
